The short version.
We are teachers. We sell courses and access to research tools. We are not registered to give investment advice, we do not know your situation, we never touch your money, and we cannot promise you a result. Everything below says that more carefully.
Educational purpose only
Everything The Investor's Journey publishes — lessons, courses, articles, market commentary, live sessions, coaching, screener output, and calculator results — is general educational content. It is not tailored to you, your finances, your goals, your tax position, or how much risk you can afford to carry.
We do not know who is reading. That is precisely why nothing here can be advice.
We are not registered advisers
Neither The Investor's Journey, Stock Market Edu, nor any of its instructors, employees or contractors is registered as a broker-dealer, an investment adviser, a commodity trading advisor, or a financial planner with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, FINRA, the CFTC, or any state securities regulator.
We do not provide personalised investment advice, and nothing on this site should be treated as though we had.
We do not make recommendations
When a lesson discusses a company, a share, an option contract, a fund or a strategy, it is being used as a teaching example. Naming a security is not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold it.
Worked examples contain numbers — share prices, premiums, strike prices — because you cannot teach arithmetic without arithmetic. Those figures are illustrative. They are not results anyone achieved, and they are not forecasts.
We never handle your money
We do not manage accounts, place trades, hold funds or securities, or have any access whatsoever to your brokerage account. Every transaction you make is your own decision, in your own account, at your own risk.
No promises about results
We make no guarantee, projection, or promise of any financial outcome. We do not represent that any student has achieved, or will achieve, any particular result, and we do not track typical student outcomes.
Past results — ours, an instructor’s, or another student’s — do not predict future results. Where a student comment appears anywhere on our sites, it is one person’s individual experience and is not typical.
Risk
Investing in securities involves risk, including the total loss of the money you invest. Options involve additional and different risks, can lose value quickly, and are not suitable for every investor.
Before trading options you should read the Options Clearing Corporation’s disclosure document, Characteristics and Risks of Standardized Options, available from your broker.
Tools, calculators and screeners
Your membership includes research tools hosted at IncomeTrader.com — the covered call calculator, credit spread calculator, pivot point calculator, discounted cash flow model, strike price evaluator, and the Coval Trend Indicator. Both sites are operated by Stock Market Edu.
These are teaching tools. They apply general formulas to general data. They know nothing about you, your holdings, your tax position or your goals, and their output is neither a recommendation nor advice. Any assumption inside a model may be wrong for a particular company or a particular market. Screener output is a starting point for your own research, not a list of things to buy.
Market data
Quotes, fundamentals, earnings dates, dividend information and option chains come from third-party providers. We do not create that data and cannot guarantee it. It may be delayed, incomplete, adjusted or simply wrong, and prices shown are not executable quotes. Verify any figure independently before acting on it.
Get your own advice
You should talk to a licensed financial professional — and where relevant a tax professional or an attorney — about your own circumstances before making any investment decision. We are glad to teach you how the mechanics work. We are not a substitute for someone who knows your situation.
